Bought in March as flower pots with stumps in them. Finally started growing about May. Had big growth spurt this last month and finally bloomed this week. Stunning colour. A native Texas plant, it does well in marshy conditions. 1/1000, f/1.8, ISO 100

This is the seat in The Texas Theatre where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested on the day of Kennedy’s assassination. It’s on Jefferson a couple of miles from our house. We have a lot of historic sites in our neighbourhood.
